It is working fine for me now. Maybe this is a clue: half-way through installation I noticed I had Visual Studio 2010 open. I quickly closed it but I think the DevForce install was already near complete by that time. Perhaps this has something to do with it....

The OM Designer Extension Installer is not required for the vast number of installations, but for some people on some machines for some yet unknown reason, it seems to be necessary.  We have not yet figured out how to reproduce the problem, but the good news is that the workaround seems to be 100% effective, and once the shortcut is used, the problem doesn't appear to reoccur.

Thanks. That solved it. I must have missed a step somewhere when doing the install, or is the OM Designer Extension always a separate install?

Is the IdeaBade OM Designer Extension visible in the VS2010 Extension Manager? If not try try using the OM Designer Extension Installer shortcut

I just downloaded DevForce to give it a trial evaluation. I am following the Hello DevForce.pdf guide. But rather than go against NorthWind I thought I would just point the app to a local database which contains members instead of customers. The class builds fine but when I go to look at the ConceptualEntityModel (page 12 of the .pdf) I do not see any of the DevForce specific properties. Nor when I click on a single Entity do I see any DevForce properties. What do I have to do to get DevForce to show these properties after I add the 'ADO.NET Entity Data Model' to the project?
