Is BOS a requirement for DevForce SL deployments?

Yes it is.  Silverlight can't access databases directly, but instead requires a service of some kind.  The BOS is always packaged with DevForce Silverlight; it's not optional as it is with other DevForce versions.

How will be the licensing for this BOS version? The client would have to pay for the BOS following the same model as in the standard DevForce applications?

No, the licensing works differently than in Classic or WinClient (EF), but I don't really know the details.  You'll need to talk with your account rep for more information, or shoot the question to sales@ideablade.com.

For a limited time we are offering our DevForce Silverlight product at a subscription price of $995 per developer for the first year (no runtimes or additional server fees) with subscription renewal at $495 each subsequent year.
