I want to use a Date Edit contrl (e.g., Nullable Date Picker) in a column of the .NET DataGridView, but can only get a GridTextBox.

You need either a DevExpress or Infragistics grid.  For example with a DevExpress XtraGrid, you could use a Date Edit DevEx control.
