Yes, indeed, it was the ALC.  When I turned that off, it connected just fine.
 
It's not that important, but I did like using ALC, as it reduced the size of the main zap from 3 megs down to 1 meg.
 
Is it something that will be supported in the future? 
 
In 6.0.7 it seemed to be working fine.

If you have application library caching enabled for your SL project that would cause the problem, as version 6.0.8.x only supports ALC for on-demand XAPs and not the main one.
 
The IdeaBlade.EntityModel.SL is causing the immediate problem, although other IdeaBlade.* assemblies might also be at issue.  Try removing and re-adding these references to ensure they're correct.   And set them to Copy Local = true to ensure the assemblies are included in the XAP.

I created an DevForce test project with only one entity and it connects up fine.  I then compared the references for both the SL and Web project, but they are the same.  I also did a Clean/Rebuild all, but it still comes up with the same error.

It looks like you have a probing problem. Line #10 and #12 in the client log should come back with the defaults.

I would say check your references in your SL project and make sure something isn't missing. By comparison this is what it should look like:

Yes, I did regenerate the model, and I just did again just to be sure, but I get the same error.
 
Is there a DevForce client debug log? Or do I need to implement one?
