Thanks for the update.  No wonder you were getting all those errors!

I'm not sure how much influence we have over IBM, but I'll talk to our Bus Dev guy and see what we can do.

Oh sh*t. Big Blue, making live hard for us once again!!!
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=317414&start=0&tstart=0
As you can se IBM DB2 and INformix developers are crying and shouting on IBM as they have not upgraded the Database .Net provider for VS2010 and .Net framework 4.0.

Is it possible that Ideablade can put pressure on them or cooperate in any manner to have them finish their job?

Oh my God, there are 86 tables in my Entity Model. One question before I start that monkey-job. My EM is based on IBM-Informix Database, using .Net driver from IBM that is based on .Net Framework 3.5. There does not exist any .Net database driver for Informix based on .Net Framework 4.0.

So my question is: Will Entity Framwork in .NET 4.0 work with a database .Net drivre based on .Net 3.5?

Hi TJ,

Sorry we did not do a better job of communicating this process.  It looks like the errors you are getting may be due to using a model created from the .NET 3.5 Entity Framework.  Unfortunately, Microsoft did not provide a migration tool and you will need to rebuild the model again with the Entity Framework in .NET 4.0.

I also started a thread to help guide people through the process and highlight the key items that need to be addressed.  Feel free to ask questions and/or contribute your experience:

Hi,
I just tried to upgrade my current solution that used DevForce 2009 to DevForce 2010. As needed I also upgraded from VS2008 to V2010, SilverLight 3 to Silverlight 4 and .Net framework 3 to version 4.
After going through all references to Ideablade.xxxx.dll and redirecting those to use DevForce 2010 DLL I get the list of errors shown in the attached file.
I have read the Installation Guido and Release Notes for v. 6.0.4 but following the steps there does not seem to help.
This has to be some reference or setup files to be modified....but where I don't have a clue. Do you?

What is more the Entyty Model I had does not seem to be able to communicate with the database any more (IBM Informix 11.5). Se error message in attached file too.

Regards
