According to Ward:
There are two flavors: one for DotNet controls and one for DevEx controls.
Also uploaded the documentation that Bill produced.

I wish I had more information for you on when the next Cabana release is coming, but I'm not an IdeaBlade insider, so I'm not sure myself. I do know that Ward and other IdeaBlade resources are working on improving the CAB/Cabana experience. I spent a lot of time with early releases of Cabana and struggled to work with it. Ward and others have made great efforts to make your experience much more fruitful than was mine. As far as a next release date, I'm waiting just like you.
Regarding the presentation, I think that one of the difficulties is that people learn in different ways. We purposely did not use a "real world example" at this point, because we did not want people to get lost in the implementation details of a particular application. Instead, we are hoping to introduce people to more basic OO design concepts and how to use them in connection with existing tools (particularly, the CAB Object Builder and WorkItem). I think that for many people, a review of the code and slide deck will be more productive for their particular learning modality. If you can find an analogy other than the business lunch that works better for you, great! We're hoping that analogy will work for some (it worked great for me when getting my head around the DI concepts).

Jeff,
You seem to have the inside track with Ward so I'll just ask you; what's the problem with a new Cabana release? Ward keeps promising and promising and did I say promising, but as of this post, no new Cabana. Look, I know that Ward is busy and I don't mean this post to be a flame but, I think all of us would like to have more status updates from Ward even if it's to say things have been delayed.
As far as the DI thing goes, I participated in the webcast and while I appreciate the effort to simplify the vehicle in which the subject matter was delivered, I too found it distracting. I would much rather see a real life application example as that vehicle. I know this was an effort to explain something which is complex and normally I really enjoy Ward's videos but I'm not sure I got much from this effort. It sounds like I'm flamiing again doesn't it? I'm not, really. I guess that I would rather see a solid new Cabana release and then a series of webcasts/videos which take a topic like DI ad explain it within the context of Cabana. Too often people with knowledge over simplify something complex in an effort to explain it. I will be the first to admit that I need to have my hand held through the learning process more than I would like but I'm not sure this webcast held my hand. I will none the less view and re-view the video; perhaps I have been too quick to judge.

Bother away! I'm looking forward to some healthy discussions about DI.

I was suppose to sit in on the Dependency Injection (DI) session on Tuesday, but was traveling and missed it! I'm looking forward to looking over the slides and learning what DI is all about.
So I might be bothering you too Jeff.

Thanks for the info Bill. I appreciate it! I can't wait to dig into that next Cabana version.
Thanks again,
Bill

I did sit in on the session Tuesday. The pace was a bit quick (you only had about 45 minutes) and the concepts of wallets/restaurants/payment were a little confusing. Databinding (especially with DevForce) was not the focus, so it was not integrated in the discussion. I am positive that DI will have a major impact in how I handle ControlBindingManagers, DataGridViews, etc. I will post questions here as I start working with the CAB and DI. Thanks!

Hi Bill,
You mentioned in your post that you're still confused about Dependency Injection. If you (or others) still have questions, post them and I'll do my best to answer. Hopefully once the slide deck, code and video are posted at week's end, you'll be able to review at a less torrid pace than the webinar.

Hey Bill,
I saw the new version of Cabana last week during training. It is quite a bit different than the one posted from April. Ward has done a good deal of work on this and has come up with an excellent tutorial project. He had the webinar on Tuesday regarding dependency injection (still a mystery to me) and then was going to focus on prepping the new Cabana for release. It will be any day. I bet that is his most asked question, right now. The delays will be worth it.
Take care,
Bill

Hello,
Ward had mentioned on his blog that a new version of Cabana was coming out the week of (6/25). I'd love to get my hands on that but can't find it. I installed the latest version of DevForce (3.5.2.3) but didn't see it in there either.
I'm just starting to dig into CAB with DevForce and didn't want to spend time looking at the old version of Cabana when a new one is coming out that sounds like it's a complete reset.
Thank you for your time,
Bill Devine
