REST-based services in Silverlight IdeaBlade

I want to make an Ideablade Silverlight application that uses only REST-based services (not connected to an ideablade BOS server or ASP.NET server).  Is this possible, or should I use a different framework?

Look elsewhere.

I say that not because DevForce is incompatible with REST. True, we do not offer a REST front-end but that is beside the point. I'd be tempted to respond the same way had you asked if we used WCF or SOAP.
 
I answer abruptly because the question, as asked, reveals a fixation on shiny-ball technology at the expense of the application and its stakeholders.
 
"Should I use x or should I use a different framework?" ... is like asking "do you serve spaghetti or should I eat at another restaurant?" If you only care about spaghetti, go some place else. If you want to have a wonderful dining experience for yourself and your guests, we can talk.
 
There might be a conversation if we knew why REST was important to you. If you don't want that conversation, you have your answer.
 
Sorry for making an example of you, m20082008. Unkind perhaps but an object lesson in the perils of technology fetishism to which the best of us succumb.

Your answer is not only a non sequitur, but quite glib, evasive and offensive.  I assume that you are part of IdeaBlade's product or customer team?

Curiously, I asked a question and was hoping for an actual answer.  You seem to assume that a developer asking such a question is focused on the technology rather than the application.   I could have explained why I was asking this particular question, but instead you took a moment to get on your podium and pretend that your experience in technologies is so superior, and your reasoning for selecting technologies is so refined, that any developer asking a basic question is only worthy of being obliquely criticized for focusing on "shiny ball technology".  How amateurish and boorish of you!

You may wonder why I don't bother explaining myself further to ensure that you actually understand why I asked the question in the first place.  Well, it would be a waste of time and effort on you, Mr. Bell, because you are too focused on fetishism of the value of your technology versus the value of developers who, in the end, will make their own decisions and select products from companies that will actually support them.  Your answer does little to add credibility to what otherwise appears to be a beautifully-done product.

I wish you the best of luck in promoting your florid persona in lieu of your lack of technical expertise and skill.  You are like the chef that, upon a hearing a customer asking whether you serve spaghetti responds: "I serve food.  You'll eat what I serve you or you can go outside and starve.  Your question is idiotic."  I can only assume that you are new to the world of technology, and food, and that you have no idea what you're talking about in either case.
