I hear you!  The source for the new, "ME2", should be available tomorrow (Friday, May 22). The version running against our server is up right now.

We're moving away from the template idea; it's too much maintenance for too little benefit. We weren't convinced people were actually going to use the template to point at their own databases.

We're hoping the source is what people really want.

That means we'll have to touch up the movies. No more "build it in 4 minutes".  I can build it in 10 minutes though; I've got a 6 minute movie that does everything except the initial model generation which is trivial.

I like the new structure MUCH better. I was never happy that the ME template left you with just 2 projects. That is cute ... but not realistic. The model was mixed in with the UI and Web projects. That is just wrong (I don't care that all RIA Services demos do that) and it is completely unnecessary in DevForce.

Our Tech Ed talk on Prism drove some more refactorings that I think make the new ME clearer and stronger.

Have I whetted your appetite? Stay tuned. Everything will be arriving shortly.

Now, you have got me confused. Is the version you're uploading tomorrow, going to be an enhanced version of ME 1 or is this the one that is based Prism?

Best Regards!

Enhanced ME1. Prism version may also go up tomorrow; I want to make sure it has at least some documentation. I'll be following with an extended video series that moves at a more deliberate and expansive pace than my Tech Ed talk.

Tomorrow's source code for ME2 is the baseline ... the starting point for refactoring that introduces Prism. It shows how far I might go BEFORE I was ready to introduce Prism to the picture.

Hope that clarifies.
