Subject: Cannot find a valid license key

I'm busy setting up my new laptop and installed VS 2010, DevForce and all my other goodies.

I pulled my (working) SL4 application from source control (TFS) and started working on it. I added a new EF model and now I keep getting "Cannot find a valid license key in any domain model assembly".

I've deleted the two projects and recreated but same result.

I opened one of my other applications (this one is not on TFS) and it works no problems what so ever. Both are Prism based.

Please help as I see no way forward.

Hi George,

You can get this error in a Silverlight application if the client and server models do not have the same assembly name.  So, make sure the namespaces and assembly names are the same.  (DevForce does this for you if you started with the DevForce Silverlight template.)

Hi ting

They are the same. The application was working and I haven't changed anything except as I'm moving everything across to my new laptop, I'm working on both systems (this could take a few days as you know).

Would the fact that they are on different domains be a factor? Hell I'm guessing as I haven't a clue what to look for.

Anyway I deleted the two projects, cleaned up TFS, created two new ones with one model and now it's working on my old laptop. As soon as I update the source on the new laptop, it has the license key exception.

Back to my old laptop, and it's still working. So I added my second model (for a different database) and now that laptop is getting the exception. Delete that model and it works again. I had it working with 4 models yesterday morning before I started with the new laptop.

Anyway it's 4pm, I'm (very?) frustrated and my wife says she has a cold beer with my name on it.

kr
George

Hi George,

Do you want to send me a private message with a phone number where I can reach you?  It'll be faster to do this over phone than email/forum.
