Thanks! I didn't see that post yet, looks indeed helpful.
Using Reflector I was already able to make my own DevExpress data binder to partly solve this problem. But will see if I can get more from that source.

Hi,

We're currently evaluating DevForce (EF), and we would like to use it together with DevExpress XtraEditors. But what I am seeing now is that using a TextEdit together with the DevForce ControlBindingManager is 2 error icons (in case of an error). On the left there is the DevExpress Error icon, with a generic error message "Invalid value", and on the right there is the .net Error Icon (from ErrorProvider) with the specific message "Lastname is required".

I would like to use (only :-)) the DevExpress one, so is that possible? And if so how?
